you have to wonder

Do you ever wonder why people go on power trips? A utility guy at that. I am a woman, but I certainly am not helpless.

Leaving to get the truck now.

It's moving day!

YEAH!!!! I won't have internet between today and Monday.... urg... I think I can make it.

Gotta run and meet the utility guys!

Decisions, decisions, decisions

I've been cruising the online yarn shops looking for items for my secret pal's big package. I decided to do it different this time around and send little things here and there and a big bang at the end. One decision I did make was to get myself some Noro to make another booga and something for another (warmer) clapotis. Here are the choices:

Clapotis II
Silk Garden: 226 or 8

Arcuania Magallanes: SWTC Kareoke: Dipity or Essence

This is what I'm thinking for my new booga:

SWTC Mermaid mix

Noro 163

I'll be taking pics of the socks and purse I'm working on tomorrow!

This may sound wierd... but....

I sooooo needed to hear from my SP that she got her first package and how much it meant to her. Also the thank you from Stacey just helped my morning so much.

I woke up at 4 a.m to the sound of dripping. A big thank you goes out to my wonderful landlords slumlords!!!!

This is part of the crack that runs across my ceiling. Across the whole ceiling. Right next to the celing fan. This is what was dripping ON MY BED!!!!

Sorry the pics aren't so good... I couldn't turn on the lights.

In better news, the yard sale was o.k. I didn't make much, but I got rid of a ton of junk. I decided to keep all the yarn I was going to unload. I still have my living room set and if I don't unload it by this Friday, it's going with. At least I'll have something to sit on!

Only 10 days until the move!!! YEAH!

Happy Blog Birthday!

Yes, my blog turned 1 year old yesterday.

It still hasn't learned how to update itself, but I hope it learns soon.

The packing is moving right along and I'm having a yard sale next weekend. I'm also selling my sofa and loveseat and my 32" tv. They're only about a year and a half old, but they gotta go! The tv, while a wonderful size is just too darn big for all of the furniture moving I like to do... I could get a man to help move it when the mood strikes me or I can sell it. I think I'll sell! A 22 or 25" will do. Besides, the LCD's are getting more reasonably priced. I also kind of like my sofa set. I bought it in a hurry because I needed it, but I'm no longer in love with sage green.

Have I mentioned how much I love my job? I only work 3 days next week with the holiday and my RDO. With my RDO's and all the holidays between now and MLK Jr. Day, I think I only have to work one or two full weeks. How cool is that? Hopefully I'll have a computer by Tuesday. They finally did the security clearance and now I'm just waiting for a "clean" computer. You don't realize how much you rely on computers until you don't have one.

Back to the vitamin V and my loverly bed!

Quickie

Had tooth pulled. I'm numb to my hairline on my left side. That's never happened before. Can't blink. Mom and cats making fun of me. Oral surgeon great... he only used novacaine and I barely felt anything.

Love the job. Had enough sick time already to take day off to have tooth pulled. Getting used to "alternate schedule". You can't beat having every other Friday off. People nice. Haven't made my mind up about the boss.

Got my Vicodan and I'm off to bed.

Hit and run posting

I want to make another Clapotis. Bigger. And with something warmer.... like wool.

Bet you didn't know it was freezing in the desert. Well it is. At least compared to 110 degree days.

Wierd how your body adjusts. I remember wearing t-shirts in the snow. Now, I freeze at 75. Of course, with 50 mph winds, I'm sure there's a wind chill factor. Right?

I'm moving!

**WARNING-WARNING**
This will be the most boring blog for the next month.

Yeah!!! I'll be outta here at the end of the month!! No more slum lord ... and no more long commute. I'll only be about 25 minutes from work, as opposed to over an hour away. The house is much, much larger than the one I'm in, it costs much, much less, and it's in great shape. 2 beds, 2 baths, lr, dr, laundry room - with a washer and dryer, a kitchen - with a fridge that stays, (apparently something that doesn't happen in CA), oh and a bonus room with room for my spinning and my mom's painting.

People who live in So.Cal will understand when I say the only downside is that it is in Cal City. I thought I lived in the boonies now... well I have discovered the edge of nowhere. But, see above for all the grand reasons!

SP, I'll let you know the new addy when it gets closer to the date. Please remind me... I'm already getting scatterbrained about it. Oh and YARD SALE!!!!! I know there is at least one person in the RAOK ring who lives near me. Maybe I'll see what I can destash!

I've been plugging away on branching out and one of my socks. I've been carpooling the past couple of days and in the dark didn't notice that I was going the wrong direction so I had to frog the sock a little bit. No time to knit for the next couple weeks... so that's all you get for now!
