Walk With Me Wednesday

My surgeon only has office hours on Wed and Fri, so this was perfect for WWMW. It's a long day since it is about 2.5 hours each way. Add waiting, doc time and food and there's the whole day! La, I took some pictures for you :)

Chicken place info for all of you living out here or just visiting sunny L.A.

Zankou Chicken

It is the best chicken ever. I got one of the plates - the hummus is wonderful, the pita is fresh and warm, and the garlic spread - OMG!!!!! The garlic spread alone is worth the trip.

p.s. You know when you sleep the wrong way and you wake up with your arm all tingley? That's what my bad arm feels like most of the time. You want to know what really sucks? When I sleep wrong and my good arm wakes up all tingley too. :)

***ETA*** Sorry, no pictures of the chicken. It was toooooo yummy and I was so busy eating I forgot. The pictures on the website are pretty accurate. It's so good, I wish I still lived in L.A.

Sleepy Sunday

Yesterday was the final day for
So without further ado, here are my four loom knitted hats.

Which, by the way, are not winging to Canada as I had hoped. Apparently you need to present mail going to another country in person. Now to scour the internets for a home.

Here are my first attempts at stockings on the mini loom:

The heel worked quite well with the sport weight, but not so well with the worsted. Also, reaching down to make a cuff made it too bulky. I will try ribbing on the next one.

My current sleepy Sunday couch knitting progress:

The black yarn on the green loom is a dog sweater. The reddish yarn on the wooden loom is a cowl for a super secret present.

Of course, the scarf also needed to make an appearance. The scarf is most definately about the process since regular knitting is very limited. I can only get two to five rows done in a sitting.

I see even my can 'o torture soup made it in the picture. Looming is perfect because I can do it completely one handed - and get some progress in.

Yarn Plans

It needed it's own post so I could find it again

purple yarn from Jean: Arwen Winter 06 IK

Schaefer Anne: Swallowtail Shawl Fall 06 IK

Knitpicks Shadow: Mim's Mountain Peaks

Baby Silk: Icarus Summer 06 IK

Malabrigo: Clapotis II

3000 lbs of red and black mohair: Kiri

Dave's Banana: Ene from Scarf Style

Kid Silk Haze: still don't remember - could be Susan's Mountain Stream which only uses one ball or Euny Jang's Print 'o the wave

Damn! All that lace! It's all Susan's fault. If she hadn't designed that Forest Canopy Shawl, I never would have thought lace was possible.
