The Haul!

First up, some loverly Malabrigo! The purple is named Polygala, the pink is Geranio and the lone knot is Red Java. The camera just does not do the colors justice.

I finally got my Cat Bordhi books!! Yeah! There are quite a few projects I want to jump into. I'm thinking I might use some of that gorgeous Malabrigo and start another project.

But before I do that, I have something to finish. I started this purse many moons ago. (cover picture purse from Bags- A Knitter's Dozen) This picture was taken earlier in the day. I just cast off the back and am going to work on the handles while I do baby watch. Yep, Momma kitty is about to drop another load.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I won AGAIN!

Blingo
Yes, I won again! And so did the RAOK'er who I signed up from! So go ahead... click... sign up and win!

Thanks SP for the e-card! I can't wait to find out who you are!

Spring break is here! Yeah! Time for knitting! My birthday is also fast approaching and my mom gave me some $$ to go yarn shopping. I'm now awaiting my very own Malabrigo, tons of yarn to dye myself and the two Cat Bordhi books I've been craving....magical knitting 1 and 2. I can't wait!

The new position is still going great. I love working in my new branch. Love, love, love it! I don't have an RDO anymore, but I hardly notice it. I'm too busy! All of the people are great and quirky. It's like a family... you might have your little squabbles, but you kiss and make up. My boss is wonderful. I really hope she gets her slot back and I can swing from contractor to civilian.

My raise took effect on the 15th and I'll see the results of it on the 10th. Just around the time that the new, higher premium for my health insurance takes effect! YEAH!!! I got a 6% raise and the new premium takes 50 % of that. My company has messed up my check 2 out of the last 3 pays and I'm supposed to be reimbursed on my next pay, so I'll have (hopefully)a nice lump sum to play with. I'm debating between a new t.v., a new vacuum, some outdoor furniture or more yarn. The problem with more yarn is that my stash has outgrown the containers needed to contain it. must.knit.faster.

Hopefully I'll have some new pics late tomorrow or Monday.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Aren't we all Irish today? Have fun, but don't drink and drive!

E is for...

E is for evolution!

First up, the evolution of Western Civilization. Currently I'm up to Roman Civilization. The class is relatively easy. Could it be all the Latin I endured? The professor has no people skills. (Can you tell I'm studying for the mid-term and have nothing else to wow you with?)

Next up the evolution of the recognition, diagnosis and treatment of personality disorders. Mid-term is done with! Yes, I am working on my final paper already. I love personality disorders. They are so fascinating. This professor is wonderful and so is her student assistant.

Ahhhh.... now we're talking! The evolution of Lady Eleanor. I completed a skein last weekend and between studying, working and sleeping, I have another half skein done. Noro Silk Garden is interesting. I love the color variations. It has the roughness and VM you find in the kureyon, but you definitely can feel the softness of the mohair and silk. After a few hours of knitting, it started to feel a little like twine...lots of lotion helped.

There was a comment /question about the Malabrigo and what it was. It is the finest, softest, handspun, 100% Merino wool that I have ever felt. It feels like a rose petal brushing against your cheek. It is hard to describe the softness. It's even softer than my beloved Alpaca. This is one of the reasons that I love knitting (and spinning) ...the tactile sensations. I've used Merino before... and yes, it is softer than regular wool, but the variations in texture with different brands keep me enthralled.
